Drama Bay

The Bay of Grama is a bay in the Ionian Sea situated along the Albanian Ionian Sea Coast on the Mediterranean Sea in Southern Europe. Not only is it picturesque, this bay also has a rich history. For centuries it served as a marble quarry as well as being a shelter for ships escaping storms in the Adriatic. The rock walls surrounding the beach are covered in inscriptions - some over 2,000 years old - left by workers and sailors. A wonderful place to soak up the sunshine and some iconic stories from centuries past.

Type of spot:

It is one of many bays of the western Ceraunian Mountains along the Albanian Riviera south of the Karaburun Peninsula. The perfect bay with nature all surrounding. The bay is primarily known as a touristic place, and for the engraved inscriptions in the surrounding coastal cliffs as its name reveals.

What is it called:

Bay of Grama (Drama Bay)

Vlorë, Albania

Type of Access:

Best by boat, doing the Grama Bay boat tour. It's an hour boat trip from Himare, heading south of Albania, with any beautiful stops along the way.

I would recommend going via boat, whether you do a boat tour or hire a boat for the day.
