A post from the dawn chronicles
We love seeing authentic people start authentic things.
Here, Christal Fitzgerald gives us a little understanding of what she's been up to as of late..and some rad silks she's offering up. These look amazing Chrystal :)
This journey of self re-covering my authentic self and re-education began when I set off to the Kimberley in May 2015, with Slow Travel Magazine, till now, mid January 2016, with a few rests in-between, this past 9 months has been amazing. I studied Permaculture Design on the Balearic Island of Ibiza atCasita Verde, spent time with my family on Mallorca where I collaborated withSUNVIBES and surfed with the Sea Bin Project founders, was fortunate to participate in the Santosha Society's inaugural surf/yoga/meditation retreat in Sri Lanka, joined my dear friends Ishita Malayvia and Tushar Pathiyan here in India, where I volunteered my services at their Shaka Surf Club, helping Ryan McDonald deliver Waves for Water filters and some community projects the SSC have initiated in the village, headed up to Goa where I completed my level 1 Yoga Teacher Training with Tribe Yoga, and am now part way though a Pranayama course here in Mysore with Guruji B.N.S Iyengar.
This entire journey has been and continues to be wonder filled. So very many people to thank for their kindness in showing me the way, helping me get from place to place, and opening up their life to a stranger. Much of my adventure has been documented, with photos and some video that I will be sharing in more depth in the coming weeks and months. Part of this journey has been to see how closely I can marry my dreams with my reality.
One of my dreams is to share handmade treasures from the road with others. I often find myself in beautiful places surrounded by handmade crafts and works of art that delight and inspire me. In my inaugural mission of fulfilling a dream, I am selling some beautiful silk fabrics that I found in a local market in Goa, on my new SEA GYPSY EMPORIUM, Shop page.
Two of my dear friends Kevin and Natasha, both lovers of Yoga with great self practices in Astanga, Yoga Dance and Acro Yoga helped me out one day to share the beauty of these silks with you. All photos from this playful photoshoot are up on my new SHOP page now, to make purchases you can visit the Emporium directly on Etsy.
All proceeds go to furthering my studies, supporting a local economy and helping me to live my dreams. Each of these silks were handmade here in India, and hand selected by me personally. They come with love, good intentions and a hand written postcard from India. I will be adding to the shop when ever something amazing finds me, I hope you enjoy them. Please do share with other treasure hunters :)
Love and Aloha
